Women have been discriminated by the male dominated society. They are exploited and deprived of their legitimate rights in society. MCDS is actively involved in empowerment of women – both social and economic.

Partnership with “INTERMISSION”:

INTERMISSION, is an organization actively involved in formation of Self Help Groups along with taking care of assuring sufficient funding. MCDS, through this partnership takes care of formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs). Training, programme designing and the funding aspect is taken care of by INTERMISSION. Their participation also involves loan recovery.

An attempt is on to link all the existing 60 SHGs as one large unit to share recourses including finances. This is being initiated with the view to strengthen and empower women as individuals and as groups.

International Women’s Day Celebrations:

One of the major events of MCDS is the celebration of International Women’s Day. For about a month leading upto this day, our staff and women are engaged in a number of programmes including health camps, debates on given topic, competitions, practice and rehearsals etc. etc. The large audience includes important personalities from all walks of life.
