Tamil Nadu Police Boy's Club
------------------------------------------
The Tamil Nadu Boy’s Clubs is an initiative of the Police Department to inspire and motivate young people, particularly those from poorer sections of the society. Each club has a membership of 50 to 100 youngsters in the group of 12-19. All the various activities are designed to keep them off anti-social elements and their influence.
Actively involved in this movement are industrialists, members of the Rotary and Lions Clubs etc.
MCDS is extremely happy to associate itself with this venture. As the first of many activities lined up, we have already begun non-formal vocational training at the Montfort Technical Institute, St. Thomas Mount, in two-wheeler mechanism, welding & fabrication and basic electric and electronics.
Each trade has an intake of 15 trainees. Other trades lined up are four-wheeler vehicle driving and computer training programmes. The Montfort Open School programme will assist boys to appear for X & XII standard
examinations.
