MCDS has come a long way since its inception nine years ago. It has reached out and touched thousands of individuals through its programmes for children, youth, women and senior citizens.

When one takes into consideration the enormous problems the poor and the down trodden face, what MCDS has achieved so far could only be considered a sound beginning. There is yet a long, a very long way to go. The experience that we have gained will stand in good stead in our on going effort to add depth to the various initiatives.

Along with continuing existing programmes, what is urgently needed is setting up of “A MCDS CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE”. This will consists of the following components:

	Administration
	Training for members of Self Help Groups (SHGs)
	Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP)
	Practice and rehearsals for “ The Sound Of Music”, the rehabilitation programme for visually challenged
	Training of adult persons with mental retardation in income generation activities
	Leadership training programmes for MCDS itself and other NGO’s
